Udupi: Catholic Sabha urges police to nab killers of brave journalist Gowri Lankesh

Udupi, 15 Sep 2017: The delegation of Udupi diocesan Catholic Sabha presented a memorandum to Udupi district Deputy Commissioner, here, on Wednesday, September 13, urging the chief minister Siddaramaiah, to arrest the killers of senior journalist Gowri Lankesh.
The memorandum stated that Gowri Lankesh was the brave journalist who dedicated her life in getting justice to common folks. She also collaborated with the government in bringing the hardcore naxals to the main streams of society. The brutal killing of such a dedicated journalist is indeed shame to civil society. She was the voice of helpless victims in the society, who stood by them till her last breadth. The law enforcement agencies had to restore the confidence of people by arresting the accused and awarding stringent punishment.
Udupi diocesan Catholic Sabha president Valerian R Fernandes, secretary Jacinta Colaco, Udupi deanery president Mary D’Souza, office bearers Maxim D’Souza, Marita Lewis, Luke D’Souza, Philip D’Lima, Joseph Rebello and Vincent Crasta were present.
