Movie ’March 22’ with socio-cultural message hits screens in Karnataka

Mangaluru, 26 Aug 2017: ‘March 22’, a Kannada movie with a socio-cultural significance has hit screens across Karnataka on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, August 25. The movie was released here at Jyothi theatre in Mangaluru city in the presence of State Minister U T Khader, MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Prakash Sherigar, Shrinivas Sherigar and other dignitaries.
Sandalwood artists, Anant Nag, Ashish Vidyarthi, Padamashri Dr. B R Shetty, Geetha, Ramesh Bhat, Sadhu Kokila, Jai Jagadish, Vinaya Prasad and others form the core of the cast. New faces, Aryavardhan, Kiran Raj, Meghashree and Deepti Shetty are in the supportive roles. Manikanth Kadri and Ravishankar worked for background score of the movie where as Basavaraj Urs edited the movie.
‘March 22’ is being celebrated as ‘World Water Day’ every year. The movie depicts the life of villagers in North Karnataka who live with communal harmony. Issues related to water scarcity, its causes and others narrated in the movie.
This is the first movie of Dubai-based business man Harish Sherigar with a strong message on water conservation and religious harmony amid socio-environmental issues being faced by the people in Karnataka. The movie is produced by Harish Sherigar and his wife Sharmila Sherigar under the banner ‘ACME Movies International.’ March 22 is directed by award-winning director Kodlu Ramakrishna.
Speaking on the occasion of the movie release, MLA JR Lobo said, the movie, ‘March 22’ has a message of water conservation and it stress the significance of religious harmony in Tulu Nadu. It has also contains glimpses of Tulu language and culture.
