Karkala: Comparing children with peers is destructive - Vasant

Karkala,13 Jul 2017: Every child is innocent. Their inherent talent is being exhibited depending on their ability. The comparing the talent of a child with other children is damaging the self esteem of that child, said Vasant M Karkala, retired headmaster.
Vasant was the resource person speaking during PTA meeting held at St Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Belman, near here, on Wednesday, July 12.
The children need to have aptitude for studies, while the parents can provide conducive environment for their studies at home. The education has seen major changes in the recent times, while computer, internet has improved their IQ, said Vasant. He cautioned the parents to keep tap on mobile and internet usage of their children.
The School head teacher Sr Lucy Pereira in her presidential address said that the students in Kannada medium schools get everything free. They got to make the best of use of it. The parents had to visit their school to get updates about the progress.
The teacher Vincent Pinto welcomed the gathering. The teacher Lilly D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. The senior teacher Pundalika Marate compered the programme.
