Mangaluru: Ramakrishna Mission carries out 28th week of cleanliness drive in city

Mangaluru, 17 Apr 2017: Ramakrishna Mission, here carried out 28th week of 14 cleanliness drives of 400 Abhiyans at 14 different localities, here on Sunday, April 16.

 

Valencia – The members of Team Swacch Garodi carried out the cleanliness drive in Valencia Circle and main road. Vijayashree and Puja Rao flagged off the drive. Along with cleaning the road the members cleaned the adjoining drains too. They cleaned the Valencia Bus Shelter and painted it. They have also erected the board with the message, ‘Save Netravathi’ decorated with nice graphics on the bus stand. Navin Poojary and Prakash Garodi coordinated the team.

 

 

Bondel – The members Team Swacch Kavoor carried out the drive in Bondel Circle and surrounding areas. Principal B N Kumbar and Divakar jointly flagged off the drive. Sachin and Mohan Poojary guided the volunteers in cleaning the road in front of Women’s Polytechnic and other main roads in Bondel. They also removed the flex banners and posters hanging on the streets and compound walls. The team also cleared the concrete road off sand thus helping the motorists. The Students of Women’s Polytechnic joined the drive. Sudhakar K and Ganesh Shetty coordinated the team.

 

Kadri Park – The members of DK Havyaka Sabha organized the drive in the area between Nantur Padavu to Kadri Park. Dr Rajendra Prasad and Shyam Bhat K flagged off the drive. Volunteers removed the plastic papers and garbage lying on both sides of the road and cleaned the drains and recovered several bottles from the area. Venugopal Bhat coordinated the team.

 

Yeyyady – Team Friends For Ever took up the drive in Yeyyady area. Sukumar and Charanprasad Adyanthaya flagged off the drive. Police Office Vedamurthy, Nirmal Kumar, Balakrishna Rai and several others actively participated in the drive. Shubhoday Alva and Sujith coordinated the team.   

 

Hampankatta – The members of Sri Krishna Bhavan Auto Drivers Association carried out the drive in Hampankatta area around Clock Tower. They removed the posters stuck on the walls of Mini Vidhana Soudha and removed the weeds from the road dividers. They also carried out cleanliness in the Town hall Premises. Dilraj Alva coordinated the team.

 

Kottara – The members of Kumar Gym Friends carried out the drive in Kottara area. Santosh Kumar and Pravin Kumar flagged off the drive. A team under the guidance of Raghu Shetty carried out cleanliness under the flyovers. Another team under the guidance of Yashwant Acharya cleaned the pillars of fly over and painted beautiful drawings depicting the cleanliness drive and its significance along with the message of awareness.

 

Jeppu – The members of Sri Amba Maheshwar Bhajana Mandir carried out the drive in Jeppu Area. They cleaned the area in Jeppu junction and removed the posters from the compound walls. Kamalaksha Bolar, Ramesh Kottari, Suresh Shetty and others participated in the drive.

 

R T O Circle – The staff of Sri Ram Transport Finance Company took up the drive in RTO Circle and surrounding areas. Sharath Kumar, DGM and Sathyanarayana K V flagged off the drive. Sudarshan S coordinated the team.

 

Mannagudda – The residents of Gundu Rao Lane with the support of local youths carried out the drive in Mannagudda. They cleaned the roads, adjoining drains and a playground that was filled with garbage was cleaned and put to use. Manohar Prabhu coordinated the team of volunteers.

 

Kinya Kaikamba – The members of Swacch Kotekar team carried out the drive in Kinya Kaikamba area. Manohar Madhupal and Shivananda Mitra Nagar jointly flagged off the drive. Annu, member of Kotekar Town Panchayat and several others participated in the drive. Seetharam Sovur coordinated the team.

 

Konaje – The members of Swacch Mangala Gangotri team took up the drive in Fajir area. Professor Balakrishna, Sri Sheshappa of Mangalore University flagged off the drive. The members of Krishna Bhajana Mandir too participated in the drive.

 

Bejai – The Mangalore Seniors carried out the drive in front of KSRTC Bus stand. Under the guidance of Nagesh, volunteers cleaned the area from Bharat mall circle to Bejai Church along with the road and the drains. Ramkumar Bekal organized the team work.

 

Mangaladevi – The members of Sharada Mahila Vrinda carried out the drive in front of Ramakrishna Math & Monkey Stand area. Smt. Mani Rai flagged off the drive. Ravishankar, AGM of Corporation bank and several others participated in the drive for nearly two hours.

 

Deralakatte – With the help of Rotary Club drive was carried out in Permanur area. Permanur main road and adjoining areas were cleaned. Purushottam Anchan coordinated he team.  

 

 MRPL and Nitte are patronizing this 3rd phase of Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan.
