ICYM M’belle celebrates Annual Day with ’Yuva Saanz-2017’

Moodubelle, 16 Apr 2017: The ICYM Unit of Moodubelle celebrated its Annual Day ‘Yuva Saanz-2017’ on the Easter Sunday, 16 April 2017 at 6 pm comprising of stage programme, dances and songs by the ICYM members and hilarious one act Konkani play by Eddie Sequeira ‘Vorsak Ek Pautim’ (Once a Year).

 

The stage programme commenced with the welcome dance by the members of the ICYM. The stage function was presided over by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas-Parish Priest. Fr. Denis D’Sa-PRO of Udupi Diocese and Parish Priest of St. Antony’s Church, Kuntalnagar was the chief guest. Other guests on the dais included Fr. Lawrence Cutinha-Assistant Parish Priest and Spiritual Director of ICYM, Vincent Fernandes and Mrs. Latha D’Mello-Vice President and Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Loyal D’Souza-President of Udupi Diocese ICYM, Mrs. Anita Alva and Valerian Noronha-Animators of UCYM, Moodubelle and Rowlin Quadros-President of ICYM, Moodubelle.

 

Following the welcome address by President Rowlin Quadros, Aden Menezes, Vice President read out the report of the various activities conducted by ICYM during the year 2016-17.

 

Those families which had hosted the Youth from Delhi and Kolkata during the ‘Day in the Diocese’ Programme on the eve of the National Youth Convention were honoured by Fr. Lawrence Cutinha.

 

The donors and sponsors of ICYM during the last year were also felicitated by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas.

 

Speaking on this occasion, Fr. Denis D’Sa conveyed the greetings of Easter to the youth and all the parishioners. Addressing the youth of iCYM, Fr. Denis D’Sa said that as they celebrate the annual day, they should look back and thank God  for granting them good health, fine talents and supportive parish priest and spiritual director. They should be thankful for their whole hearted support and spiritual guidance in all their activities. The youth should not forget to reciprocate this support by continuing their good work for the parish. They should also evaluate their activities and find out how best they can improve and contribute to the progress of the parish. Fr. Denis made an appeal to the youth to be dynamic, to be builders, to inspire and to be an example to others.

 

 

The president of ICYM, Rowlin Quadros was honoured  for his exemplary leadership during the year 2016-17 by the dignitaries on the dais. Joshal D’Mello-Cultural Secretary read out the citation.

 

The overall championship shields in the games and sports conducted by ICYM during the year were awarded  on this occasion. St. Roque II Ward secured the Runners Up Shield where as St. Anne II Ward won the Championship Shield.

 

In his presidential address, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas complimented the ICYM for their  good work throughout the last year and appreciated  their contribution in every field of church activities.

 

Ms. Renita Joslin Fernandes who had secured fifth rank in Karnataka in BSc Nursing  was felicitated on this occasion.

 

The stage programme was compeered by Ancita D’Souza and Vote of thanks was proposed by Jezel D’Souza.

 

The ICYM members presented two dances, YCS members presented one dance and  Rowlin Quadros and Jevita Mendonca presented  one song each. Lloyd Rebello anchored the entertainment programme.

 

The short hilarious Konkani Play written and directed by Eddie Sequeira of Mangalore was presented at the end of the programme.
