Bantwal: Netravati River polluted with all sorts of garbage never seen before
Bellevision Media Network
Bantwal, 10 Apr 2017: The lifeline Netravati River that supplies drinking water to Mangaluru city and urban local bodies, irrigates the farmlands, has been highly polluted with all sorts of garbage including plastic bottles.
The sparse rains of past week indeed brought the muck into the rivulets and in turn dumped into water bodies. The alarm was raised by the priests of Tirumala Venkataramana temple, here, on Sunday, April 9, when they have gone for bathing before offering puja.
The priests returned to temple and bathed at the open well in the precinct to offer the puja, because they had not seen such incident in the past.
