Mumbai: Surekha H Devadiga wins 3 medals in National Masters Athletic Meet

Mumbai, 01 April 2017: Surekha Hemanth Devadiga who represented Maharashtra in 37th National Masters Athletics Championship that was held recently at Meenabai stadium, Nasik, won silver in 4x100 relay, gold in shot put and bronze in hammer throw in above 45 years category.
Surekha is hailing from Konchady-Derebail in Mangaluru town, DK district settled at Worli, Dadar (West), here. She is the student of Kannada and writing thesis on ‘A cultural study on Devadiga community’ under the guidance of Dr G N Madyasta, head of department of Kannada at Mumbai University. She is also serving as deputy secretary of Devadiga Sangha Mumbai® women’s wing.
She was awarded the medals by IMA president T O Jacob, in the presence of secretary Gerald D’Souza, organizing vice president Nitin Vikhar, organizing secretary Sanjay Chavan, Vijay Pagar and others were present during valedictory ceremony.
