Mangaluru: Minister Rai flags-off DK district mobile budget publicity campaign

Mangaluru, 31 Mar 2017: The recent budget presented by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah has laid special emphasis on integral development of Dakshina Kannada district, said state forests and Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking during the flagging off of mobile campaign to highlight the achievement of state government that was organized by information and public relations department at Circuit House, here, on Thursday, March 30.
The long pending demand for resolving drinking scarcity was met by sanctioning Rs 100 crore in the budget for Paschim Vahini. Accordingly, new taluks were announced, funds sanctioned for airport extension and fisheries jetties, said minister Rai.
Every Kannadiga is being benefited by some schemes of state administration. Meanwhile, the publicity campaign is being embarked upon to create mass awareness on popular budget, added minister Rai.
Speaking on the occasion, Mangaluru north MLA B A Moideen Bava said that the funds are being allocated in the recent budget for many development works in Dakshina Kannada district, including extension of runway and four-lane road, separate Ambigara Chowdayya Development Board for helping fisheries community, funds to construct Haj Bhavan in Mangaluru, said MLA Bava.
The district information officer B A Khadersha in his preliminary address said that the publicity mobile campaign on recent budge will cover entire district in 20 days.
