Karnataka Malla, Kannada daily editor Chandrashekar Palettady f’ted for 25 yrs service

Mumbai, 15 Mar 2017: The journalist is the effective force to create well informed society. At the prevailing times of Whatsapp, facebook and internet has posed serious threat to print media. The sustenance of print media indeed a difficult task in this competitive world, said Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

 

MP Nalin was speaking during the felicitation of Chandrashekar Palettady, editor-in-chief of Karnataka Malla, Kannada daily newspaper published from Mumbai, that was organized by Chandrashekar Palettady Felicitation Committee and Kannada department of Mumbai University, at Bunts Bhavan, here on Monday, March 13.

 

 

He also released ‘Nanu….Nanna Swagata,’ biography of Chandrashekar Palettady on the same occasion.

 

Nalin lauded the 25 years of Chandrashekar’s career in journalism. He also assured Karnataka Rajyotsav Award to Chandrashekar if BJP comes to reign in Karnataka in the coming assembly elections.

 

Bantara Sangha Mumbai® president Prabhakar L Shetty, Borivali MP Gopal C Shetty and K R Pet MLA Narayan R Gowda inaugurated the programme.

 

Kusuma Palettady, their daughter Deepa and son Roshan, Ambika Printers & Publications proprietor Muralidar Shingote and his son Praveen Shingote were present.

 

Bunts Justice Committee president Padmanabha S Payyade was the chief guest of the occasion.

Mumbai University head of Kannada department Dr G N Upadhya read the citation letter.

 

A documentary on Palettady that was produced by Babu K Belchada and group was screened on the same occasion. 

 

 

Palettady in his acknowledgement said, ‘I have never been longing for felicitation in my life. I discharge my duties. The owners of Karnataka Malla, staff and readers are my associates. I have faced all the odds of my career and I am grateful to the readers of Karnataka Malla,’ said Palettady.

 

The reception Committee vice president Nityanand D Kotian welcomed the gathering. Suresh Shetty Shiroor rendered prayers. Ashok Pakkala compered the programme.
