82 units of blood collected at camp in Shirva health centre

Udupi, 27 Feb 2017: Blood cannot be produced in laboratory. It’s extremely essential in saving the accident victim battling for life. It’s noteworthy that of late, the youth community has been voluntarily donating their blood, said astrologer Vedamurti Kenja Sridar Tantri Kutyar.

 

Vedamurti Sridar was speaking during blood camp that was organized in collaboration with Mogaveera Yuva Sangatane®, G Shankar Family Trust®, KMC blood bank–Manipal, Udupi district administration, South Kanara Photographers Association–Kaup, Rotary Club–Shirva, JCI–Shirva, Valadoor Welfare Association and community health centre–Shirva, at community health centre, Shirva, near here on Sunday, February 26.

 

 

Kaup MLA and former state minister Vinayakumar Sorake presided the programme and urged the youth community to keep away form tobacco and drugs.

 

Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest of Our Lady of Health, Shirva was present.

 

Mogaveera Yuva Sangatane president Ganesh Kanchan, South Kanara Photographers Association secretary Veerendra S Poojary, Shirva community health centre resident Dr Santosh Kumar, blood bank medical officer Dr Manish, JCI president Prasad Shetty Valadoor were present.

 

Rotary Club – Shirva delivered the preliminary address. K R Patkar compered the programme. Sukesh Valadoor proposed vote of thanks.

 

Eighty-two units of blood was collected during the blood bank.
