Jubail: White Stone PL - 2017, biggest cricket tourney begins in Saudi Arabia

Jubail/Saudi Arabia, 25 Feb 2017: The White Stone PL Cricket Tournament – 2017 organized by White Stone Trading and Contracting Ltd, got of to flying start on Dywidag cricket ground, here on Thursday, February 23. It’s the biggest cricket tournament in eastern province of Saudi Arabia, the opening ceremony started with launching of jersey of the team in the presence of all the guests.
Siddique and Sheikh Ahmed from White Stone, Salem U B, former president of youth Congress - Ullal, Mukesh, owner of M M Steels, Salam and Aslam from Blue Mart were present during the opening ceremony. Asif Deals welcomed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Salim UB said that cricket in gulf countries strengthens bonds of expats of different Indian communities and wished all the best for the teams participating in the tournament. Sheikh Ahmed declared tournament open with releasing pigeons on the pitch.
The tournament is being organized under leadership of Ibba Bajpe and Team. The jerseys were provided to the all the participating teams in the tournament, with 12 teams participating in this tournament. The teams are divided in 3 pools and matches will be played on league basic with top 2 teams from each pool will qualify for the play offs. Winners and runners team players will take away WPL 2017 Winners and Runners Trophy with laptops and mobile phones as prizes with many more individual trophies and prizes will be given away.
B M Sharif, owner of White Stone Trading & Contracting Co Ltd is the main sponsors of cricket tournament and the cricket tournament is co- sponsored by Deals Solutions Arabia Co Ltd and Al Muzain.
The tournament, which was scheduled to be held on February 17, was delayed due to bad weather condition for the cricket, and got off to flying start on February 24, with first match played between Al Safa Al Hasa and Sab warriors Al khobar and the final of the tournament will be held on March 3. With grand closing ceremony was much to the excitement of the waiting crowed present in the ground, the matches will be played throughout the week giving joy and fun cricket fans in the city of Jubail, Dammam, Al Hasa and Al Khobar.
Irfan Eden, Noor Bajal, Aris Bajal, Asif U K and Fayaz Ullal, will be officiating the cricket matches.
