Oman Tuluver holds Mega ’Family Sports Meet 2017’

Muscat, 17 Feb 2017: Oman Tuluver organising team namely Ramananda Shetty, Padmakar Mendon, Sudhir Shetty, Arun Poojary and Rajesh Shetty, successfully organised the mega “Oman Tuluver Family sports Festival 2017” on Feb 3rd, 2017 at Ahli Sidab Club ground Muscat. The timeless moments of sports day spanned across three Friday’s will be remembered for ages to come.

 

Oman Tuluver Family Sports was a hit for just following reason: Kukku Thappu da torana, Bareda Thorana, Pathaake Thorana, Bella neer, sajjige bajil, kori Sukka, Aletha Neer, This was some of the offerings in the midst of a fun filled but high voltage track field and team games.

 

 

The final Friday was a big hit in spite of a bit of an inclement weather. The day began with the inauguration by various community members followed by the national anthems of Oman and India and a Mass Oath Taking. A simulated Tulunadu cities torch run was led by Gowtham Raj, Venugopal Karkera, Rakesh Suvarna, Damodar Shetty was followed by Suchetna Karkera, Sujatha Lokesh, Bharathi Rai and Varija Acharya.

 

Then there was the tightly contested women’s cricket and throwball, Men’s throwball and volleyball finals. The most high-powered men’s and women’s Tug-of-War was kept for the end of day team event after an unbelievable level of exuberant field games. Kids Sack race, balance walk, Ladies and gents Relay, Individual age category races and competitions and Power shot put for both ladies and gents for age 18 to 55.

 

The chief guest of the evening Duleep Mendis, renowned International cricketer and former captain of Srilanka, currently Chief Development officer and coach of Oman national cricket team, gave away the winners trophy for men’s and ladies’ cricket champions and best performers of the cricket category. Dr C K Anchan and Arunakar Shetty gave away the coveted trophies to Team and individual winners. Royal Strikers team emerged champions and clinched the “Tulunada Champion Trophy 2017”.

 

The vote of thanks was delivered by thanking the sponsors and contributors who made this one of the best ever of a kind sports gathering which was played in the true spirit of sportsman and Tuluva!!.

 

Finally in the vote of thanks the following groups and individuals, whose contribution efforts had made this Family games a memorable one were acknowledged.
