Mangaluru: St Agnes High School students get tips for stress management

Mangaluru, 13 Feb 2017: The student of the department of Journalism of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), here, organized the talk on ‘Eating disorders and stress management,’ at St Agnes High School, here on Friday, February 10 from 2.00pm to 3.00pm.
The programme featured students talking to the girls about anorexia in general, its causes and its symptoms. The saying, ‘A healthy body is the new beautiful’ and ‘A healthy mind is a healthy body’ was inculcated among the high school students.
The students were appealed not to pay too much attention to celebrity portrayals of body. They were also urged to take caution of their body as anorexia followed by depression has the highest death rates.
Another topic spoken about to the students was depression, its causes, its effects and its symptoms. The high school students were encouraged to seek help as well as offer help to those who may exhibit signs of depression.
The talk was followed by an interactive session of stress and time management where the students were highlighted on the positive and negative stress. As a part of the session, the high school students were taught a few stress relieving breathing techniques.
