Bahrain: Bahrain Billawas present Karavali Sambrama-2017, cultural extravaganza

Manama/Bahrain, 07 Feb 2017: Bahrain Billawas, Indian community association promoted by Guru Seva Samiti, presented Karavali Sambrama – 2017, cultural extravaganza of coastal district of Karnataka at Al Raza School auditorium, here on Friday, February 3.
Sandalwood star Shivaraj Kumar, bollywood movie producer and director Rajashekar R Kotian, Chandrashekar Suvarna Udupi, Tulu Koota – Pimpri Chinchwad president Shyam Suvarna, Tulu folklore scholar Dayanand Kattalsar were the guests of honour present on the dais.
Shivaraj Kumar was conferred, Billawa Kala Ratna, in recognition of his stardom in sandalwood cinema.
Speaking on the occasion, Shivaraj lauded the capabilities of Bahrain Billawas in organing such mega event in a gulf country. He urged the organizers to organize a musical concert in Bahrain shortly. He offered assurances of producing and acting in Tulu and Kannada movie, Kamabla.
He presented hit songs of sandalwood movies amidst thunderous applauses form gathering.
Maskiri Kudla, comedy troupe from Mangaluru presented rib-tickling jokes and mimicry. Tulu movie, Tulunada Tudar, produced and directed by Chandrashekar Suvarna was screened transpiring viewers to their homelands till the show concluded.
Each associations of coastal Karnataka in Bahrain presented group dances to enthral the gathering.
The renowned playback singer Vanessa Saldanha who arrived from Saudi Arabia entertained the gathering with both Tulu and Kannada songs, while the local folk artistes presented variety folk dances.
Bahrain Billawas president presented mementos to all dignitaries and artistes.
He also proposed vote of thanks.
Over 2,000 Indian expatriates witnessed the show.
