Mangaluru: Government First Grade College students get info on Digital India

Mangaluru, 18 Jan 2017: Infosys Foundation, National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Centre Thokottu, in association with Youth Red Cross Unit of Government First Grade College, Car Street, here, organized certification programme, at their College auditorium, here on Tuesday, January 17.
Karnataka legislative council chief whip Ivan D’Souza was the chief guest of the occasion. He inspired the students with his words of wisdom.
The programme was presided by president Professor Rajashekar Hebbar C, guest of honor.
Augustine T P, project director, Hope Foundation, Bengaluru; Professor Mahesh K B, programme co-ordinator, Youth Red Cross, Vijay Anthony, project co-ordinator, Hope Foundation, Mangaluru were present.
Digital India is an ambitious programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and a leading knowledge economy in the world. The programme aims to make this monumental shift possible through availability, access and digital capabilities to deliver a digitally inclusive knowledge society.
Digital empowerment of all the citizens is one of the key pillars of this programme.
The Digital Saksharata Abhiyan (DISHA)/NDLM have been formulated in line with the vision of a Digital India, wherein at least one member from every household across the country will achieve digital literacy.
