Udupi: Bishop Dr Lobo launches Lexiyo Devina Year 2017, to highlight Bible Study

Udupi, 02 Jan 2017: Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi diocese launched Lexiyo Devina Year 2017 on New Year Eve at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur, here.

 

Milagres College campus director and Milagres assistant parish priest Fr Prakash Anil Castelino led adoration of Blessed Sacrament here on Saturday December 31 evening.

 

Bishop Dr Lobo concelebrated the Thanksgiving Mass along with rector Fr Stany B Lobo, Kallianpur - Pilar Fathers director Fr Herald Mathias, Pilar Minor Seminary vocational director Fr Nelson Furtado, Milagres assistant parish priests Fr Prakash Castelino and Fr Rolwin Aranha after the adoration.

 

 

Fr Prakash Anil Castelino, in his homily said. ‘Mother Mary is the Queen of Peace. Its appropriate to begin the New Year seeking the graces of Mother Mary to lead meaningful life throughout the year.

 

He also said that Udupi diocese observing the Year of Lexiyo Devina 2017 and called on the faithful to ready Bible daily for enriching lives.

 

Bishop Dr Lobo launched Lexiyo Devina Year 2017 by unveiling the curtain.

 

He urged the faithful to read Bible daily to get enlightenment for spiritual growth throughout the year.

 

He further said, ‘We must thankful to have Mother Mary as patroness of our diocese and Our Lady of Miracles - Milagres parish. Her abundant graces are with us at all times.’

 

A large number of faithful attended the Eucharistic Celebration on the occasion.
