Bantwal, 28 Dec 2016: The paddy crop grown on 2 acre farmland at Karandady that comes under the limits of Sajipamunnoor gram panchayat was destroyed owing to flooding caused by storing 5 meter water in the new vented-dam at Thumbe, near here by Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC).

The local ZP member Chandraprakash Shetty visited the spot and held talks with the distressed farmers.

Shetty called Mangaluru municipal commissioner Nazeer to come to the spot, to assess the situation and to compensate the farmers for their loss of crop. Nazeer had agreed for his request.
