Vasai Konknni Talentam, presents 73rd show of Mataro Chorbela to packed audiences

Mumbai, 30 Nov 2016: Vasai Konknni Talentam, a group of Konkani talented theater artistes of Vasai (West), presented well known Konkani play, Mataro Chorbela, of Konkani Kalaratn veteran theater artiste and playwright Francis Fernandes Cascia to the packed audiences at municipal hall, Naigaon (West), here on Sunday, November 27.

 

The Konkani theater lovers from suburban Vasai, Naigaon, Ambadi and Nallasopara witnessed the famous Konkani play, Mataro Chorbela on the occasion.

 

Fr Francis SVD was the chief guest, Vasai Konkani Welfare Association founder president Stephen Fernandes, former president Ancy D’Souza Paladka were the guests of honor.

 

 

Among the Konkani veterans, Konkani Welfare Association – Viran president Dayan D’Souza, Denis Fernandes of Naigaon (East), Veronica Noronha and Stephen D’Sa of Naigaon (West), here were present.

 

The children of Vasai Konknni Talentam residing in Naigaon presented welcome dance. Vasai Konknni Talentam president Vincent B D’Mello welcomed the gathering and introduced the members Veronica Noronha, Ronald D’Costa, Naveen D’Souza, Stany Fernandes, Jacinta D’Souza and Valerian Lobo.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Vincent emphasized that Vasai Konknni Talentam has been founded to provide a platform to exhibit talent among the children in Vasai taluk. Its also striving to promote mother tongue Konkani among the new generation by special training. He also sought support from all in this regard.    

 

Both Stephen Fernandes and Ancy Paladka felicitated Konknni Kalaratn Francis Fernandes Cascia and conveyed best wishes for 73rd show of Mataro Chorbela.

 

Francis said that the play only highlights the family issues in a humorous manner and not related to any individual.  

 

Fr Francis conveyed best wishes to Vasai Konknni Talentam group.

 

Evita Carvalho of Vasai Konknni Talentam presented a Konkani song to prove Konkani talent exists among Mangaloreans residing in Naigaon.  

 

The dance group trained by Vasai Konknni Talentam presented dance to the legenary Wilfy Rebimbus’s popular song, Moga Yore, during the interval.

 

Veronica thanked the theater troupe of Mataro Chorbela and the audiences who witnessed the play.  

 

The first ever Konkani programme held in Naigaon, here was witnessed by packed crowd to prove Konkani thrives in Mumbai.
