Baroda: Bishop Dr Cyprian Monis ordains Deacon Leslie Ritesh Coutinho as Jesuit priest

Baroda, 12 Nov 2016: The religions form part of the society inspires one to lead spiritual path. The life would be meaningless without religion. Christianity has vibrant religious traditions and practices, said Bishop Dr Cyprian Monis of Asansol province of Gujarat.
Bishop Dr Cyprian was delivering homily during the ordination of deacon Leslie Ritesh Coutinho at Our Lady of Rosary Cathedral, here on Friday, November 11 morning.
Both Bishop Cyprian and retired Archbishop Dr Stanislaus Fernandes of Baroda ordained Deacon Leslie Ritesh Coutinho as Jesuit clergy.
Fr Leslie is the son of Lucas and Rufeena Coutinho, hailing from Manchi near Panemangaluru in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka belongs to Jesuit province of Jamshedupur.
Society of Jesus Jamshedpur Provincial Superior, Our Lady of Rosary Cathedral parish priest Fr William Carvalho, assistant parish priest Fr Paul D’Silva, Fr Praveen Veigas, Fr Cyril Fernandes, Fr K N Joseph, Mary D’Souza Kulshekar, Lancy Coutinho, Lloyd Coutinho and others were present.
The felicitation programme was held at Skylark parish auditorium, where the family members of Fr Leslie gathered to celebrate the ordination.
Vicar General Fr Joel Pais delivered the preliminary address and welcomed the gathering. Fr Jerome Sequeira led the prayer. Fr Ritesh thanked the gathering to witness his ordination ceremony.
