Puttur: Planning Forum launched at St Philomena College

Puttur, 26 Oct 2016: The inaugural function of Planning Forum of PG department of economics, St Philomena College, here was held at seminar hall of PG Centre on October 24.
The inaugurator Dr B Jayarama Bhat, professor of economics, Kuvempu University delivered a lecture on ‘Indian Economy–Emerging Issues and Pattern of Development’. He said, ‘Indian economy is a growing economy which has witnessed many hurdles in its path of development. It has achieved considerable developments over the years, but still it is very necessary to undertake some specific reform actions.’
He has suggested Panchasuthras like effective governance, least political interference, increased public participation, efficient management of affairs, commitment to the cause and proper implementation of plans will make Indian Economy a strong one by the year 2020.
The principal Professor Leo Noronha in his presidential address said, ‘Today the world is going for the fourth industrial revolution. That is in the field of telecommunications. The RIL Chairman, Mukesh Ambani dedicated the much anticipated Reliance Jio 4G services to the nation and called it an effort to fulfill the Digital India dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’
The co-ordinator of the department Professor Dinakara Rao and the president of Planning Forum Pavithra G were present on this occasion.
The convener of Planning Forum Pradeep K S introduced the new office bearers of Planning Forum. Ishwarya and team presented the prayer song. Rakesh Naik welcomed the gathering. Lavita Jovina Lobo introduced the chief guest. Chaithra proposed the vote of thanks. Shwetha M compered the programme.
