Mudigere: 1,900 people attend health camp organized by Kanachur Hospital

Mudigere, 22 Oct 2016: Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital, Mangaluru organized free health checkup camp here on Sunday, October 16, as part of centenary birth anniversary of freedom fighter the late D S Krishnappa Gowda. One-thousand-nine-hundred people attended the camp, while 600 people were issued with Kanachur health cards for free treatment in Mangaluru. The medicines were freely distributed to the needy patients.

 

Chikmagaluru DC G Satyavati inaugurated the free health checkup camp.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Kanachur Medical College and Research Centre chairman Kanachur Monu said free treatments including surgeries are offered for poor patients in their Hospital. The pregnant woman arriving for delivery were offered free food and Rs 1,000 will be deposited with Karnataka Bank to issue fixed deposit certificate in the name of newborn.

 

MLC Motamma said that it’s impossible for the government to undertake every social service. She appealed to philanthropists, wealthy, donors and social welfare/voluntary organizations to do their mite for the social cause.

 

The former union minister D K Taradevi recalled the social service of her later father freedom fighter D S Krishnappa Gowda.

 

The Committee chairman D B Subbe Gowda presided the programme. MLA B B Ningayya and MLC M K Pranesh also spoke on the occasion.

 

The former MLA M P Kumaraswamy, TP president K C Ratan Kumar, TP member Ranjan Ajit Kumar, panchayat president Ramijabi, vice president Poornima Mallya, Dr Raghuram Adyantaya, U R Chandre Gowda, D K Udayashankar, Gopal Gowda, B S Jayaram Gowda, Dr Sundaresh, Dr Virupaksha and others were present.
