Dubai: Thiya Samaj celebrates Durga Puja

Dubai, 16 Oct 2016: Thiya Samaj family celebrated with pomp and grandeur, its Annual Durga Puja on Friday, October 14, 2016 at The Sindhi Ceremonial Hall, Bur Dubai.

 

The event saw a good sized crowd with over 250 devotees who actively and wholeheartedly participated in the puja.  The mantap was beautifully decorated with some colorful floral arrangements by Mr. Rajesh Kuthar.  The alankarams were mesmerizing and a true feast to the eyes.  Mr. & Mrs. Roshan Bolar represented Thiya Samaj family and performed all the puja vidhis under the able guidance of Mr. Raghu Bhat.

 

 

The Puja commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp with prayers offered by sumangalis. This was followed by some melodious & divine bhajans rendered by Sri Rajarajeshwari Bhajan Mandali. All the devotees enjoyed the divine ambience and harmonious bhajans.

 

As a prelude to the puja, there was a workshop organized for the kids which included a brilliant storytelling of the timeless epic "Ramayana" by Ms. Pallavi D.  The kids relived the mythological epic while learning some moral and ethical values.  The kids also showcased their talents in recitation of shlokas and singing devotional bhajans, marked with melody and clarity.

 

Veteran members like Mr. Roshan Bolar and Mr. Rajesh Ullal were felicitated with mementos for their dedicated services and contributions towards the Samaj.  Other community leaders and office bearers who graced the occasion were also felicitated on the occasion.

 

The puja rituals concluded with Maha Mangalarathi and a feast of Mahaprasadam that followed. The grand ceremony was successfully organized by the 2016 Executive Committee Members under the direction of Mr. Manish Karkera & Mr. Dharmendra Bangera.

 

Mr. Dharmendra delivered the vote of thanks to its organizing team members & all the sponsors with a special mention of Mr. Jagannath Kotian, for his generous contributions to the puja.
