Bantwal: Sleuths unearth illegal abattoir at Ammemmar; accused absconding

Bantwal, 16 Oct 2016: The rural police raided an illegal abattoir at a house in Ammemmar at the limits of Pudu village, near here on Saturday, October 15.
The police also seized one Innova car, 3 bikes, knives, weighing scale and other items worth Rs 5.28 lac, rescued 8 cattle. One cow was found already butchered in the vicinity.
On a tip-off, Bantwal rural sub-inspector Rakshit-led policemen raided the abattoir, on the instructions of Bantwal circle inspector B K Manjayya directed by Bantwal sub-division DySP Ravish C R.
The police raided the abattoir in a house owned by a certain Mansoor in Ammemmar village, near here based on the complaint by the neighbors.
Mansoor, his brother Latif, his friend Tasleem and others fled from the spot, informed police sources.
Bantwal veterinary Dr Prakash Bennur inspected the cattle at the spot. Bantwal rural police registered a case and began the manhunt for the accused.
The policemen Jagdish, Praveen, Suresh, Jayaram, Basavaraj, Shivaraj, Shivakumar, Manoj, Lokesh, Manoj, Kumar and Suresh, drivers Yogish and Praveen were involved in this operation.
