Belthangady Circle Inspector suspended for allegedly demanding bribe
Puttur, 15 Oct 2016: Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Bhusahn G Borse informed that Belthangady Circle Inspector of Police Nemiraj had been suspended from service on charges of allegedly demanding bribe Rs 20,000 with regard to a case.
The suspension order was issued by IGP (Western Range) J Arun Chakrabarthy.
A complaint was filed by Dhanakirthi Ariga, a press reporter. He alleged that the officer had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 to file B Report in a case against him.
An inquiry was conducted regarding the charges leveled against Nemiraj and the preliminary inquiry proved the charges; the report was then forwarded to IGP (Western Range) who issued the suspension order.
