Bantwal: Artifacts of Tulunadu bears tales of many generations - Professor Vivek Rai

Bantwal, 13 Oct 2016: Don’t view the artifacts as mere objects; broaden your views because each artifact has tales to tell about the life of several generations, said Hampi University retired chancellor Professor B A Vivek Rai.
Professor Vivek was speaking after inaugurating state level symposium on artifacts – revisiting history that was held at Rani Abbakka Tulu Study Centre and Tulu museum at Sanchayagiri, here on Wednesday, October 12.
Don’t just undertake studies for mere preparing thesis; instead view every artifact with emotional value, appealed Professor Rai to the students. He also advised to develop patience, perseverance and innocence in unraveling the intrinsic value of artifacts.
Dr Rajaram Hegde, professor of history, Kuvempu University released the book on The Granary of Tulu Heritage authored by Dr Ashalata Suvarna on the same occasion.
He regretted the history studies failed in inspiring students and commended the efforts of Professor Tukaram Poojary couple in recreating history of Tulunadu.
Dr Kuruva Basavaraj Bengaluru was present.
The senior litterateur Yerya Laxminarayana Alva presided the programme.
Professor Tukaram welcomed the gathering and delivered the preliminary address. The Centre secretary Dr Ashalata S Suvarna proposed vote of thanks. The lecturer Kittu Ramakunja compered the programme.
Professor Dr Rajaram presented the papers. Dr Pundikai Ganapayya Bhat Moodbidri, Dr Prakaschandra Shishila Mangaluru, Dr Kuruva Basavaraj bengaluru, Dr Chandrashekar Damle Sullia, Professor Suresh Rai Udupi, Dr T K Ravindran Bantwal, Professor Krishnamurti Suratkal, Dr Poovappa Kaniyoor Sullia, Dr Sai Geeta Mangaluru, Chetan Mundaje Bantwal and others partaken in the symposium.
