Baroda: Tulu Chavadi, world’s first-ever cultural venue offered unto society in city

Baroda, 13 Oct 2016: ‘I was in a dilemma whether to come to Baroda or not. However, I have opted to come because I valued the love of my natives in the distant land as my dear one are always with me in my hometown. Had I opted not to come; I would have repented. The natives of coastal district are Tuluvas who have formed Tulu Sangha Baroda® and live by the principles of visionary Brahmasree Narayana Guru. Tulu language is not limited to any caste, creed and faith. It’s the rich language fosters brotherhood spoken by Koraga community to Brahmins. It’s one amongst the five ancient languages of Dravidians. It likely to create history because of his ancient culture,’ said Karnataka state sport, youth, fisheries and Udupi district-in-charge minister Pramod Madwaraj.

 

The minister Madwaraj was speaking after inaugurating Tulu Chavadi, the first ever mega Tulu heritage village at India Bulls Mega Mall, here on Tuesday, October 11.

 

 

He called on his brethrens to foster Tulu language by encouraging their children to speak their mother tongue and know about its rich culture, by limiting the use of internet and whatsapp. Meanwhile, the Tulu Chavadi will become focal point in promoting distinct Tulu culture among the new generation of Tuluvas, said minister Madwaraj. 

 

Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president M Janaki Brahmavar presided the programme. 

 

Speaking on the occasion, Janaki said that Tulu will thrive because of many organizations in India and overseas doing their mite in this regard. Tulu Chavadi in Baroda will further enhance its activities. 

 

Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar, Vadodara mayor Bharat Danger, corportor Manish Pagar, Dakshina Kannada district BJP youth president advocate Harish Poonja, Bunts Sangha Mumbai® former president Karnire Vishwanat Shetty, Bhavani Foundation founder Daddangadi Chelladka Kusumodara Deranna Shetty (K D Shetty), Surat entrepreneur Radhakrishna Shetty, Karnatkaa Malla – Mumbai based Kannada daily sub-editor Srinivas Jokatte, Udayavani, Kannada daily Mumbai sub-editor Dinesh Shetty Renjala were the guests of honor. 

 

Tulu Sangha Baroda honorary president Dayanand Bontra, convener S K Haleyangady, former president S Jayaram Shetty and others were present at the dais. 

 

Priyanka Sunil Kumar, Mahaveer Hegde, Vikhyat Shetty Karkala, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy member D M Kulal, Mohan Koppala Kadri, musician Ganesh Yermal, Poovari- Kannada bulletin editor Vijayakumar Bhandary Hebbarabailu, Mohan Kumar Surat, Sharat Shetty Kinnigoly, vice presidents Mahaveer B Jain and K Madhav Shetty, women wing president Sujata K Shetty, joint secretaries Balakrishna Rai and Prashant Hegde, former president Indudas V Shetty, leaders Madhan Kumar Gowda, S K Shetty, Prabha Satish Shetty, Sudhakar Shetty, Sunil Shetty, Dayanand Salian, Dinesh Shetty, Yashwant Shetty, Koragappa Shetty, Ajit Kumar Shetty, Chandrahas Shetty, Suresh Shetty and others were present.

 

Vaishnavi D Shetty rendered the prayers. Karnoor Mohan Rai compered the programme. The honorary general secretary Balakrishna Shetty proposed vote of thanks. 

 

The office bearers of Tulu-Kannadiga, Banta-Billawa Associations from all over Gujarat were present to celebrate the harvest festival as per Tulunadu tradition.  

 

The women wing presented devotional singing programme. The members of Tulu Sangha Baroda and their children presented variety cultural and entertainment programmes throughout Tuesday, October 11. 

 

The theater troupe of Vijaya Kalavidaru from Kinnigoli in Mangaluru taluk presented Tulu play, Lekka Tatti Bokka to the packed audiences.
