Chennai: Kannada Sangh presents first ever Yakshagana Talamaddale

Chennai, 30 Sep 2016: Kannada Sangh of Chennai that was founded 67 years ago presented the first ever Yakshagana Talamaddale here recently.
The women unit of Kannada Sangh who were inspired by the Yakshagana Talamaddale that was presented by the artistes of Sri Durgamba Mahila Yakshagana Mandali led by Vasudev Rao of Suratkal, Karnataka determined to learn the basics of this art and mastered it within 4 months.
It was their maiden attempt in presenting the Talamaddale in Chennai to the packed audiences.
Bhagavat B M Ravindra Rao anchored the Talamaddale at par with professionals. Madhumati Prakash, Karuna Shivakumar, Umaraja, Usha Nayak , Sasikala Rao and Tulasi donned different roles of Yakshagana of mythological episode, much appreciated by the gathering.
Kannada Sangh president Narayan Bhat, vice president Mohan Rao felicitated all the women Yakshagana artistes on the occasion.
