Bantwal: Women warriors in India proved bravery - Dr Kumuda

Bantwal, 29 Sep 2016: The women are intelligent, matured and physically capable that has been proved in the history by brave warriors – Kittoor Chennamma, Onake Obavva and Abbakka Rani. Every girl students should take part in different sports to enhance their physique, said Professor Dr Kumuda Rao of A B Shetty Memorial Dental College, Mangaluru.

 

Dr Kumuda was speaking after inaugurating 2-day women volleyball tournament that was hosted by SVS College, here in association with Mangalore University on Wednesday September 28.

 

 

She further said the participation in sports helps in maintaining good health, improves physical and mental agility.

 

SVS College correspondent K Prakash Shenoy in his presidential address said that extra-curricular activities along with studies are essential as the excellence in sports also likely to get better jobs.

 

Mangalore University physical education assistant director Ramesh H N and S Naresh Kumar were present at the dais.

 

SVS College principal Dr Pandurang Nayak welcomed the gathering. The tournament organizer Sundar proposed vote of thanks. The lecturer Laxmi V Bhat compered the programme.
