Udupi: Kar Minister Pramod seeks central assistance for fisheries projects

Udupi, 24 Sep 2016: Karnataka minister for fisheries and youth services Pramod Madhwaraj met union minister for agriculture and farmers welfare Radha Mohan Singh, at his office in Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi on Thursday September 22, in order to release balance central assistance for fisheries harbour projects of Karnataka, to organise ‘Conference of fisheries ministers of coastal states’ to evolve uniform policies for sustainable development of marine fisheries at Bangaluru during Nov/Dec 2016 and to retain the earlier central assistance pattern of 75:25 for infrastructure projects.
The union minister Radha Mohan Singh, after a detailed discussion, assured to examine the issues and take immediate favourable action.
Devendra Chaudhary, secretary, department of animal husbandry, dairy and fisheries, Karnataka, S R Umashankar, principal secretary, animal husbandry and fisheries, H S Veerappa Gowda, director of fisheries and Dr C K Murthy, joint director of fisheries were present during the meeting.
