Free Eye Check up Camp organized in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi, 18 Sep 2016: Around one hundred fifty persons took the advantage of Free Eye Check up Camp organized in Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle on  Sunday, 18 September 2016 from 9 am to 12.30 pm. The Free Eye Check up camp was organized jointly by Lions Club Moodubelle, Prasad Netralaya, Udupi, District Health Centre, Udupi, Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Programme(SKDRDP), Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala, Edmeru, Health Commission, St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle and Vyasaraya Ballal and family.

 

The inaugural function of the Free Eye Check up Camp was held at 9.30 am. Ln. Elias D’Souza, President of the Lions Club, Moodubelle presided over the function. Other guests on the dais included Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle, Dr. Nityananda Nayak, Dr. Akshay, Navin Shetty, President of SKDRDP, Lakshmi Narayan, past Preaident of Nisarga Yuvaka Mandala, Ln. Elias Lobo, Zonal Secretary and Mrs. Precilla Alva, President  of  Health Commission, St. Lawrence Church Unit.

 

 

The Free Eye Check up Camp was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries on the dais by lighting the lamp.

 

Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenahs in his message said that sight is one of the important gifts of God and it should be preserved in order to live a healthy and comfortable life. He appreciated the efforts taken by various organizations under the leadership of Lions Club of Moodubelle in organizing the Free Eye Check up Camp and providing an opportunity to the people of the village to get their eyes checked and providing necessary corrective measures.

 

Dr. Nityananda Nayak explained the various problems faced by people in maintaining good eye sight. He said that modern life style has created many health problems such as diabetes and blood pressure which affects the eye sight.

 

Around 150 persons took advantage of the Free Eye Check up Camp.

 

Ln. Devdas Hebbar compered the programme, welcomed the guests and  proposed the vote of thanks.

Free eye check ups are fine. But when people are advised eye surgery, not forget to take a second opinion from another eye clinic.
