The police department is responsible for maintaining law and order in the society and citizens are equally responsible to cooperate with the department and follow the law, he noted. He added and said it is globally accepted that the Scotland cops are the most effective police force in the world. But the fact is Indian police work harder and functions more effectively than the Scotland police. What makes the difference is the cooperation that departments receive from the people is not seen in India, while Indians lack the courtesy to abide by the law. He called upon the students to excel in one field and told to contribute valuable service to his country in one or another way. Answering query he told, ‘If I am getting punishment for doing good works, I will not get back from doing that, If I found guilty law will punish me’. Even after more than 70 years of Independence, the Police Act is still not amended. We still follow the outdated Police Act, he lamented. Success is guaranteed virtue, but it takes a lot of excellence and calibre to achieve it. As long as your conscious is clear, no one can stop you from achieving any heights. He told it is necessary to make the students aware of law conducting law courses in the college.

Alva’s Education Foundation managing trustee Vivek Alva, AIET principal Dr Peter Fernandies, Rostrum Club president Raksha Satish, secretary Murali Krishna Achary were present among others.
