Narayana Nethralaya organizes Dristhti Santhe-2016, themed ’Of the Blind, for the Blind’

Bengaluru, 07 Sep 2016: Narayana Nethralaya, here organized, Drishti Santhe - 2016, a unique programme, ‘Of the Blind, for the Blind,’.
The main intention of organizing this programme was to create awareness on Eye Donation to commomorate Eye Donation Fortnight being celebrated from August 25 to September 8.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr K Bhujanga Shetty, chairman and managing director, Narayana Nethralaya, Diganth Manchale, cine artiste, Kannada Film Industry, Maya Chandra, film maker, M K Krishna, chair person, south zone, Eye Bank Association of India along with visually challenged children.
Highlights of the Event were performances by visually challenged children and participation of the blind students with normal children in painting, skit and elocution contest.
Harish Nanjappa Award announced by Narayana Nethralaya and handed over to Doddaballapur Eye Collection Centre for collecting highest number of Eyes for Narayana Nethralaya Eye Bank.
The trailer of documentary film ‘Maanava,’ directed by Maya Chandra on Harish Nanjappa, the boy who died in a freak road accident released on the same occasion.
