Mangaluru: DYFI lays road-blockade at Suratkal against Oil Majors for withered road

Mangaluru, 06 Sep 2016: DYFI unit of Suratkal, near here laid road blockade on the 4 kilometers stretch of road from Suratkal to MRPL, on Tuesday September 6, on the deplored road extensively used by multi-axle trucks of oil majors: MRPL, HPCL and BPCL who have mega refineries in the neighbourhood.  

 

Despite the local residents are staging stir since the past 3 years urging the civic authority and the local MLA, to re-asphalt the road everything gone to the deaf ears.

 

 

The protesters held up the traffic for nearly 1-hour causing long queues of heavy vehicular traffic on either side.  

 

DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla, Imtiyaz and Srinat Katipalla also addressed the protesters. 

 

The local leaders Naveen Poojary, Mehboob Kana, Rahim Kana, Farouq Janata Colony, Mohammad Ali Bala, Srinivas Hosabettu, Santosh Kulai, B K Maqsoud, Ajmal Kana and others were present.
