Philanthropist Valerian Alva distributes Sports Material to St. Lawrence PU College Football team

Udupi/M’Belle, 30 Aug 2016: A generous Philanthropist Mr. Valerian Alva from Moodubelle who is now having a business in London, UK., distributed Sports material such as Uniform, Shoes, and Socks to the football team of St. Lawrence PU College Football team both boys and girls on Monday, 29th August 2016.
Mr. Valerian Alva, also chairman of Moodubelle Charitable Trust have been helping St. Lawrence church and Educational Institutions regularly. The cost of the sports material he donated comes up to Rs. 30,000/- and above that he has promised additional Rs. 5000 cash prize if the team wins in District Level competition being held next month.
In addition Mr. Valerian has contributed to the installing of Inverter, two Synthetic water tanks and Chairs to the St. Lawrence Hall stage to the tune of approx.. Rs. 50,000 recently.
The above distribution took place during the regular assembly of the College on Monday at 9:30am. Mr. Joseph D’Souza PT (St. Lawrence PU College) welcomed the Chief Guest of the day Mr. Valerian Alva along with Mr. Naveen Correa (Principal, PU College), Ms. Leena D’Silva (HM High School) and Ashith Alva (CPL) to the dais and accorded a warm welcome by offering roses.
Mr. Naveen Correa in his address thanked Mr. Valerian Alva for his generosity towards the St. Lawrence Educational Institutions and also wished good luck to the team for their competition.
Mr. Valerian Alva speaking on the occasion, advised the sports team to cultivate a sportsman spirit while playing games and importantly he said to have a team spirit and never to look down on any members or discourage any team members. It’s the team spirit and support that wins the matches he said.
Ms. Leena D’Silva, proposed vote of thanks and especially thanked Mr. Valerian for his love and admiration to school sports activities.
The programme ended with a group photographs of the team with the new uniforms donated by Mr. Valerian Alva.
