St. Lawrence PU College Parliament inaugurated at Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 25 Aug 2016: The parliament of the St. Lawrence PU College was inaugurated by Ms. Veera Fernandes, Principal of St. Lawrence English Medium High School, Moodubelle on Wednesday the 24th August 2016.

 

Tryoden D’Souza accorded a hearty welcome to Ms. Veera Fernandes and Mr. Naveen Correa (Principal, St. Lawrence PU College) and the new parliamentarians and students.

 

 

The following students were selected to hold the parliament and took oath to adhere to the rules and regulations of the parliament.

Sherline Almeida - Speaker,

Rayson D’Souza  -  Deputy Speaker,

Prime Minister  - Ashish Alva,

Roslie Carol Quadras - Opposition Leader

 

In addition many students were assigned with different ministries such as Cultural and Sports.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Convener Edward L. D’Souza highlighted importance of being a leader the one who should work without bais and fear. There will be failures but overcoming those failures and succeeding are the true qualities of the leaders he said.

 

The Chief Guest Ms. Veera Fernandes speaking to the members of the parliament said it is very important to be very patient in life. We must positive attitude and there is no such word as Impossible but think positively as I am possible and that will be your key to success in life.

 

Mr. Naveen Correa (President of the function) also addressed the students and encouraged to participate and engage in parliament sessions. The duty of the opposition is not oppose everything what the ruling party suggests but merely find if there are any faults or suggestions and work collectively to sort out the issues.

 

Miss. Sherline Almeida proposed vote of thanks and Miss. Edna Menezes compered the entire event wonderfully.
