Bantwal: Civic officials from northern states visit projects of Swacch Bharat Mission

Bantwal, 25 Aug 2016: A delegation of civic officers from northern states of Bihar, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and New Delhi who were on study tour to view innovative and successful projects that are undertaken under Swacch Bharat Mission in Dakshina Kannada district on Monday August 21.
The delegation visited the solid waste treatment plant that is recycling the waste collected from shops, hotels and commercial complexes at Siddakatte, near here that lies in the limits of Sangabettu gram panchayat. They also visited Anganawady in Bakimar, near here to view the compost of waste food and cleanliness/hygiene maintained there and water meter that was installed in a household nearby. Later, they viewed the sanitary napkin burner that was installed by the local gram panchayat at Siddakatte Government High School. TP member Prabhakar Prabhu and Sangabettu gram panchayat development officer Sylvia Fernandes offered info to the delegates.
The delegation comprised civic officers of different states – Raghav Neti, Raghuram M S, S C Sharma, Dr Ekta Roy, P K Singh, Hemant Kumar Mishra, Madhukar Gupta, Shahid Ahmed Laskar, Ramaya Jyoti Sharma, Ritesh Kumar Pandey and R P Mishra.
ZP member Tungappa Bangera, TP member Prabhakar Prabhu, nodal officer and deputy director of horticulture department Yogish H R, TP chief executive officer Cyprian Miranda, Bahugram Drinking Water Project assistant engineer Girish K P, Panchayatraj engineer Jagdish Nimbalkar, Sangabettu gram panchayat president Gulabi Shetty, vice president Satish Poojary, PDO Sylvia Fernandes, Kukkipady gram panchayat president Dinesh Sundar Shanti, Sangabettu gram panchayat members Mayyadi adn Sharada, Siddakatte Government High School vice principal Ramanand were present.
