Puttur: St Philomena College organizes lecture on Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope

Puttur, 21 Aug 2016: St Philomena College, the postgraduate department of physics, here organized a guest lecture on Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope (GMRT): Technological and Scientific Milestone in Indian Science at Seminar Hall, here on August 18.
Dr Ishwara Chandra C H, in-charge of GMRT science operations was the resource person. In his presentation, Dr Ishwara said, ‘by studying light and electromagnetic radiation we can collect lot of information regarding the existence and evolution of the universe.’ He also spoke on various technical aspects of the radio telescopes which are located in India.
The faculty members and the students of the department have actively participated in the programme.
Dr A P Radhakrishna, head of department of physics welcomed the gathering. Anusha K S proposed the vote of thanks.
