Udupi: Man beaten to death for transporting cows

 

Udupi, 18 Aug 2016: In a shocking incident, a man was beaten to death by activists of Hindu organizations for allegedly transporting two cows in a tempo on Wednesday night at Kenjur in the district.

 

 

Praveen Poojary (28) along with his friend Akshay Devadiga (20) was transporting two cows by a tempo on Wednesday when as many as 35 activists of Hindu organizations waylaid the tempo and assaulted the duo with lethal weapons. Akshay is under treatment at a hospital but Praveen succumbed.

 

The police managed to arrest 17 of the attackers and search is on for the others. Brahmavar police are investigating the case.
