Farming lessons

The students along with their teachers arrived at Oddoor Farm, near here on Tuesday August 9 at 11.00am. The progressive farmer Rajesh Naik offered info about his farm for about half-an-hour. He said, ‘Farming is the better profession that has fewer headaches.’ He appealed to the students to plant as many as saplings in their household and nurture like a member of their own family. The plants grow as trees and yield abundantly. He gave testimony of his own farm that was a disused land 29 years ago and now is lush with greenery. A lake was created that was necessary for irrigation; organic manure was prepared at home that restored the fertility of soil. The farming is profitable provided one gets fully immersed in it, said Rajesh Naik.

Dairy farming for multiple uses

He offered info on dairy farming, how the cattle are reared at the farm, grassland, cow-dung, gobar gas etc. The students shared happy moments with cattle.
