Mangaluru: Breastfeeding promotes good health - Dr Asha J Rai Malady

Mangaluru, 06 Aug 2016: The district government Ayurveda and Homeopathy Hospital, in collaboration with women and child welfare department organized an awareness programme for women as part of World Breastfeeding Week at Akshara Sadana, Anganawady Centre, Sultan Battery, Boloor, here on Friday August 5.
AYUSH Foundation chairperson Dr Asha Jyoti Rai Malady inaugurated the programme here on Friday morning.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Asha expressed concern over the need to sensitize people about natures-act such as breastfeeding. It’s the consequences of breaking away newly-married couples from predominantly joint families. Breastfeeding is helpful for the womb to return to normal state, said Dr Asha.
The district AYUSH Hospital Dr Devdas K Putran said that breastfeeding is essential for the healthy growth of baby. He advised the modern moms not to deprive breastfeeding for their babies.
The district AYUSH Hospital nurse Sunanda D R offered info on breastfeeding based on Ayurvedic studies.
The local social activist Vasudev Boloor presided the programme.
The local former corporator Kamalaksha Salian, senior health assistant Jalajakshi Kasba Bengre also shared info to women.
