Mangaluru: Students of AIMIT, Beeri plant saplings at garbage dump in front of entrance gate

Mangaluru, 27 Jul 2016: St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), Beeri, here celebrated Vanamahotsav in front of the entrance gate on Tuesday July 26.
Kotekar town panchayat president Uday Kumar presided the programme, here on Tuesday afternoon.
The junior engineer Renuka, Kotekar town panchayat members Rohit and Hameed, AIMIT director Fr Denzel Lobo SJ, dean of department of IT and bioinformatics Professor Santosh Rebello, student co-ordinators of MAGIS eco drive Kevin Sequeira were present at the dais.
Hameed thanked the students for taking the initiative to keep the surrounding clean. He quoted the great environmentalist and the social worker Salmara Timakka and urged the students to follow in her footsteps.
Fr Denzel Lobo SJ motivated the students by saying that they should begin by cleaning their room, then by cleaning their surrounding which automatically cleans the society because the cleaning begins from within.
Pranam and Supaksha compered the programme. Kevin Sequeira proposed vote of thanks.
Then all the students carried the saplings towards the location and planted it as a symbol of Vanamahostsava.
