Belthangady, 23 Jul 2016: The IAF plane that went missing on Friday had an officer from Dakshina Kannada, say sources.

Ekanath Shetty (48) from Belthangady was one among the 29 personnel aboard the aircraft when it went missing.

It is learnt that on Friday, Ekanath Shetty’s wife received a call from a person who claimed to be from the Indian Air Force and said that the aircraft in which her husband was, had gone missing.

Ekanath Shetty had called his family and informed that he would not fly on Friday as he was recovering from a surgery. However, he still remains untraceable.

Ekanath had joined the Air Force after serving in the Army.
