Kasargod youth claims to have joined ISIS; sends message to family
Kasargod, 18 Jul 2016: A man from Kasargod, who is suspected to have joined ISIS, the militant group, sent a message to his family a few days ago.
Mohammed Marvan, from Kasargod is said to be one amongst many others who are suspected to have joined the ISIS.
Marvan sent the message via Telegram Messenger. He stated that if walking on the path of the Allah was called terrorism, then he definitely was a terrorist.
The message further read, “How can I sit at home when Muslims are being targeted? Muslims in Kashmir, Gujarat and Muzaffarnagar are being persecuted and I will return home only after helping them. American and Russian forces also kill Muslims in this ISIS province. Allah will ask me what I did when Muslims suffered. Did not Prophet Mohammed speak of Muslims being one body? Fighting for the community is my religious duty.”
He added, “Many people live with luxurious items, but in this ISIS controlled province there is no electricity as it has been taken over by enemies. I came here on own decision and no one brainwashed me.”
Marvan has reportedly claimed that the message was sent from an area in the Middle East; however, the exact location is not known.
