Putttur: Parents play key role in instilling human values among children - Dr Narendra Derla

Puttur, 17 Jul 2016: The inauguration and annual general body meeting of Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of St Philomena Pre-University College, here was held at College auditorium on Saturday July 16.
The inaugurator Dr Narendra Rai Derla, HOD of Kannada at Dr K Shivarama Karantha Government First Grade College, Bellare, near here spoke on ‘Role of parents in the education of their children.’ He said, ‘The parents play a major role in inculcating values in their children. Human values, social values and cultural values are very essential for a sound character and personality.’
The campus director Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro participated as guest of honor.
The correspondent Fr Alfred J Pinto presided the programme.
The principal Fr Vijay Lobo delivered introductory speech. The president of PTA Dr Sooryanarayana K was present.
The students who have excelled in various curricular, co curricular and extracurricular activities during 2015-16 were honored by the PTA. In the general body meeting, the process of selection of new office bearers was held.
Akshaya and group presented the prayer. The secretary of PTA Prahsanth Bhat P welcomed the gathering. The treasurer Anil Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. Usha Yashavanth A compered the programme.
