Vanamahostava was celebrated at St. Lawrence PU College Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 15 Jul 2016: Keeping in mind the importance of growing trees and plants for the survival of human kind, a Vanamahostava or Parisara Day was organized on Wednesday the 13th August 2016. All the students and teachers of the St. Lawrence PU College attended this event.
PU student Roshan Prabhu narrated the importance of Vanamahostava. Prof. Dr. Geeta Bhat sang a beautiful poem on beautiful nature and importance of preservation of plants.
The event began with a prayer song by 2nd Year PU students. Mr. Naveen Correa, Principal PU College, Ms. Leena D’Silva, Headmistress, St. Lawrence High School distributed plants for the leaders of PU college for planting and wished them on the occasion.
The PU students also presented a brief presentation of Go-green highlighting preservation of plants.
PU College leader Ashish Alva was present on the dais.
Earlier President of Parisara Sangha Ms. Padmashree accorded a hearty welcome to all, Secretary Sharline D’Almeida proposed vote of thanks and director of the association compeered the entire event.
At the end students planted the saplings near the St. Lawrence High-School.
