Bantwal: Town Police organize awareness programme on drug abuse at SVS College

Bantwal, 28 Jun 2016: The town police organized an awareness programme on narcotics and its trafficking, children’s abuse, sexual abuse, POCSO Act at Sri Venkataramana Swamy (SVS) College, here on Monday June 27.
The child welfare Committee officer Umesh Nirmal was the resource person urged the students to report any incidents of sexual abuse to their parents or teachers, shunning inferiority complex and also to local police. If the minor girl is sexually abused, the accused can be booked under Juvenile Act. He also offered info on the evils of drug abuse and trafficking.
Bantwal town sub-inspector Nandakumar appealed the students to be aware of the perils of drug abuse on their studies and health, family relations. He urged them to report any info on drug trafficking to the police.
ASI Sesamma, mobile police ASI Rama Naik were present at the dais.
The police personnel Krishna Kulal and Sridar of intelligence department were also present.
SVS Pre-University College principal Sasikala K welcomed the gathering. The College leader Sharanya proposed vote of thanks. The lecturer Chetan Mundaje compered the programme.
