Mangaluru: Mayor Harinath launches new academic year of Vivekananda Coaching Classes

Mangaluru, 03 Jun 2016: The new academic year of Vivekananda coaching classes that are being run by Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaladevi, here was inaugurated on Sunday May 29.
Ramakrishna Mission is running Vivekananda Coaching classes, free tuition class from Class V to Class X in its premises for the past 12 years. The deserving students are given free tuitions along with value-based education, evening tea and tiffin. About 150 students are daily benefitted by this activity. They are also provided with study materials like school bags, uniforms, notebooks, umbrellas etc at the beginning of the academic year.
The mayor Harinath inaugurated the current academic year during the function held at Ashram auditorium, here on Sunday morning. He lauded the efforts of Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru for its contribution to the social well-being.
K S Upadhyaya and Mandakini Upadhyaya, chief functionaries of Vikas Seva Pratishthan who sponsored the notebooks distributed the study materials among 225 deserving students.
Vijayalakshmi briefed about the social welfare activities of Ashram. Swami Jitakamananda, secretary, Ramakrishna Mission delivered the vote of thanks. Santosh Alva compered the programme.
