Qatar: Dhand - Tulu movie screened in a mega show with Tulu Koota

Doha / Qatar, 01 Jun 2016: Tulu Koota Qatar, a socio-cultural organization affiliated to Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India, Qatar, has been in the forefront of promoting the native language and Tulu culture in Qatar, by hosting events like Tulu drama, skits, movies, classical and folk dances etc by providing the platform for the local artistes, members and also for the artists from Karnataka especially from coastal region of Tulunadu. With the same objective, it has supported with the cooperation of other Qatar based Karnataka associations such as KSQ, Bunts Qatar, MCC, SKMWA and KMCA, the release of a Tulu movie titled, Dhand (Army), at West End Park, Asian Town, Industrial area, here on Friday May 27 amidst a large number of Tulu well wishers.

The movie was produced by a well known social worker based in Dubai, Shodhan Prasad and directed by Ranjith Bajpe, under the banner of Sandhya Creations. It stars Arjun Kapikad, Sandeep Shetty, Anoop Sagar, Deepak Paladka, Gopinath Bhat, Umesh Mijar, Ranjan Boloor, Shilpa Suvarna, Anvitha Sagar, and Subhash Bangera in the lead roles.

 

Anoop Sagar, co-actor of movie - Dhand was the guest of honor during the screening of the movie. Tulu Koota vice president Prakash Rao felicitated Anoop Sagar with bouquet of flowers. Anoop Sagar spoke on the occasion and thanked Qatar audience for giving the opportunity for release of Dhand in Qatar. Divakar Poojary, past president of Tulu Koota Qatar introduced the guest and thanked all who were present for their support and encouragement behind the success of Dhand screening in Qatar.

 

Ravi Shetty, president of Tulu Koota who was recently awarded with an International Award ‘Aryabhata’ for his extensive community services, extended his full support to the event however he could not attend the show as he had to attend a felicitation program at Kuwait on Friday at the same time.
