Veteran Kannada writer Javare Gowda passes away
Mysuru, 30 May 2016: Renowned Kannada writer and poet D Javare Gowda passed away at the age of 100 at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology in the city on Monday evening.
Popularly known as ’De Ja Go,’ Javare Gowda served as the Vice-Chancellor of Mysore University. He immensely contributed to Kannada literature. Apart from this, he also served towards promoting the Kannada language as the medium of instruction in schools.
The final rites will take place after Javare Gowda’s daughter arrives from the USA.
