Mumbai: Muhurat of Kannada play, Kalaya Tasmai Namaha held in metro

Mumbai, 24 May 2016: The muhurat of Kannada play, Kalaya Tasmai Namaha by renowned playwright and theater artiste Arvind Shetty Koojakooli was held at the auditorium of Karnataka Sangh Mumbai®, Matunga (West) here on Monday May 23 evening. It was organized by Anchor Cultural Group Mumbai®.
The retired teacher and veteran poet B S Kurkal held the muhurat in the presence of veteran theater artiste and poet Shimunje Parari and Censor Board member Ranga C Poojary.
Speaking on the occasion B S Kurkal said that money would not be constraint now to stage plays, despite it was witnessed about 6 yo 7 decades ago. The sponsors are readily available now, but the theater faces the dearth of audiences. In order to overcome this, there lies the need to pen plays of short duration with lucid characters.
Laxman Kanchan, Surendra Kumar Hegde, Umesh Shetty, Sa Daya, Mohan Salian, Pratviraj Mundkoor, Petri Vishwanat Shetty, renowned theater artistes, playwrights and directors were present.
Krishnaraj Shetty compered the programme. Prabhakar Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
